Man in Critical Condition After Beverly Shooting - UPDATED

A man was shot in the 9900 block of S. Walden Parkway, according to police.

A man is in critical condition after a Wednesday afternoon shooting in Beverly. 

The man who is in his 30s was shot multiple times in the foyer of a building on the 9900 block of South Walden Parkway, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said. 

The shooting occurred at about 12:30 p.m. The suspect immediately fled and has not been apprehended by police, O'Brien said. A description was not immediately available.

The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital where he is in critical condition, O'Brien said. 

Ald. Matt O'Shea says police have told him that the shooting is not a random act and that the suspect was known by the victim.

Police have identified a suspect and are working with surrounding law enforcement agencies to locate him, O'Shea said. The suspect's last known address was in south suburban Matteson.
