Man Mugged With Rifle Near 99th Street Metra Station

A man walking home from the 99th Street Station Monday evening was approached by two teens, one of whom was carrying a rifle.

A man was robbed by two young men as he was making his way home from the 99th Street Metra Station Monday evening. 

Around 6:45 p.m. a 33-year-old man was walking in the 2300 block of W. 100th Street when he heard footsteps behind him, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien. 

The man turned around and saw a young black male of about 18 years of age, wearing a black skull cap and carrying what looked like a rifle, O'Brien said. The mugger made a robbery demand as a second young man approached.

The commuter handed over his cell phone, iPod and wallet, O'Brien said. The two young men than fled. They were not apprehended.
