Maple Morgan Park Food Pantry In Need Of Donations
The demand for help at the neighborhood food pantry has increased during the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.

CHICAGO — The new coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has created a need for donations at the Maple Morgan Park Community Food Pantry. The pantry that's inside the Morgan Park United Methodist Church building at 11030 S. Longwood Drive will accept food and money donations from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The food pantry provides services for residents of the 60643 and 60655 zip codes. Since the coronavirus has been declared a pandemic, the number of visitors to the pantry has increased substantially.
Their shortages are mostly due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a news release. But even before the pandemic the pantry had to take on an added burden when another food pantry nearby was closed following a fire. Also, the food pantry in Evergreen Park also closed due to the pandemic.
