Four motorists hurt and taken to hospital after police chase suspected drive-by shooter in Chicago late Monday.

Four motorists and a fleeing suspect were hospitalized after police gave chase to a drive-by shooter through South Side neighborhoods, ending with a crash in Chicago Lawn late Monday.
At about 10:30 p.m., shots were fired from a silver minivan at someone on the sidewalk in the 3200 block of West Carroll in East Garfield Park. Police chased the van to 59th Street and Western Avenue, according to Chicago police, where the van ran through a red light and struck two cars.
Four people in the cars were taken to hospitals, and so was the driver of the minivan. All were in good condition, police said. Besides the driver, four men in the minivan were arrested.
