Water Main Repair At Roseland Pumping Station Complete, No Boil Order

The water management dept. completed the repair at Roseland Pumping Station completed with no service disruption or boil order.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Department of Water Management (DWM) has completed the necessary repair work on the water main outside the Roseland Pumping Station without causing a disruption to service and no boil order.

"I am happy to report that the repairs were made without causing a disruption in water service or requiring a boil order," Ald. Matt O'Shea told 19th Ward residents in an email blast. "Residents are able to continue using their water service as usual."

You may want to let the water run from the faucet to make sure the water is clear.

The 48-inch water main was installed in 1916, and it serves more than 20,000 people in parts of Beverly, Morgan Park, Mount Greenwood and Auburn Gresham. The boundaries of which are north of 119th Street, south of 87th Street, east of Troy Street, west of I-57. A map of the potentially affected area is highlighted in orange below.

As the work continues, the DWM will update residents as the work progresses via text alerts or calls. Ald. Matt O’Shea will also update 19th Ward residents when more information becomes available.
