Reporter Who Broke Patrick Kane Rape Story Says Situation 'Ominous' and 'Heinous'
Tim Graham spoke with Comcast SportsNet Chicago and shared insight into the reporting and the Kane family in Buffalo.

Calling Patrick Kane “one of the best hockey players in the world,” Buffalo News reporter Tim Graham says the information shared with reporters, both published and not yet published, “doesn’t look good ... he’s being investigated for something heinous.”
Graham spoke with Comcast SportsNet after he broke the story that Hamburg, NY, police are investigating the Chicago Blackhawks player in connection with a rape at his home. He talked about Kane’s prominent family, his bar-hopping and the police investigation. Half a dozen reporters are working the story, he says.
“It’s looking more ominous than not,” Graham says, based on what his sources tell him.

Kane is “arguably the biggest star to come out of Buffalo,” Graham says. “He’s up there with hall of famers in terms of his popularity, his celebrity.”
The criminal investigation could several weeks if not months, according to police, as investigators await results of forensic testing. The Associated Press confirmed on Saturday via a text from attorney Paul Cambria that the Blackhawks star enlisted him for representation. Cambria was his lawyer in 2009 when Kane assaulted a Buffalo cabbie over a 20-cent fare discrepancy.
