Schools Help Group Buy Bulletproof Vests for Chicago Police
Beverly and Mt. Greenwood private and public schools pitched in recently to help raise money for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.

About a dozen Beverly and Mt. Greenwood schools worked to raise money Friday to help a foundation buy bulletproof vests for Chicago police officers, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation needs $4 million to purchase 8,000 replacement vests, the report stated. Although the Chicago Police Department gives them their first vests, officers need to buy replacements, which cost around $500 to $1,000, the report added.
