3 Brooks Middle School Employees Terminated After Misconduct Investigation

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Three employees have been terminated after an emergency meeting of the Valley View School Board of Education on Monday morning.
The terminations come after an internal investigation revealed instances of inappropriate conduct with a student and violations of VVSD Board polices, the District said on Monday.
All three employees were Brooks Middle School staff members.

The District said the Bolingbrook Police Department informed VVSD administration of an investigation regarding alleged inappropriate conduct by a staff member with a student.
"To ensure the safety of students and to allow for a proper internal investigation, VVSD immediately started an internal investigation and placed the initial staff member on administrative leave," the District said.

During the investigation, allegations of misconduct against additional employees surfaced. Once those allegations came to light, the additional two staff members were also immediately placed on administrative leave, the District said.
At Monday's meeting, the Board approved the employment termination of all three staff members.
Appropriate supports for students and staff are being offered, the District said.
Bolingbrook Police told Patch Monday that the investigation is still open, and no charges have been filed to date.
