Bolingbrook Fire Kills Man, 54, Police Say

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A fire broke out in a Bolingbrook home Thursday morning, killing a 54-year-old man, according to police. The man's name has yet to be released.

At 6:50 a.m. Thursday, police and fire responded to calls of a fire in a home in the 400 block of Navajo Court, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department. A neighbor called authorities after seeing heavy smoke from the home.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and find the man, who had died, police said. His name is being withheld pending the notification of family.

The fire is believed to have originated in the home's kitchen. An investigation into the incident is underway, authorities said.
