Bolingbrook Man Accused Of Sex Abuse Of Teen Caught In Georgia

OSWEGO, IL — The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended a suburban man wanted for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child and grooming a child in Oswego. Police said the marshals caught up with Richard Aguilar, 30, in McDonough, Georgia, on Thursday.

Aguilar's arrest comes after a months long investigation into a report received over the summer regarding a sexual relationship between a man and a juvenile girl.

In June, Oswego police began investigating allegations that in February of this year, Aguilar — who is originally from Bolingbrook — had developed an online relationship with a girl who was between the ages of 13 and 17. Police said Aguilar solicited the girl for sex.

The Kendall County State's Attorney's Office approved five felony charges against Aguilar: aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child, grooming and solicitation to meet a child. A warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 14.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office, with help from the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force, began an investigation into Aguilar's whereabouts. With the assistance of the marshals' Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Georgia, Aguilar was apprehended.

His bond is set at $500,000, meaning he would need to post 10 percent to secure his release from the Henry County jail in Georgia.

A mugshot of Aguilar was not immediately available from Henry County. Jail records show he was booked into the facility for being a "fugitive from justice."
