35 Citations Issued During Bolingbrook Police's Holiday Enforcements

The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," "Drive High. Get a DUI." and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns ran from Dec. 12 to Jan. 5.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — During holiday enforcement campaigns, Bolingbrook Police said it issued 35 citations for seat belt violations, speeding, distracted driving and other traffic offenses, according to a news release from the department.

Bolingbrook Police Department teamed up with the Illinois Department of Transportation and law enforcement agencies statewide for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High. Get a DUI.” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns, which ran from Dec. 12 to Jan. 5.

"From rural routes and small-town streets to busy suburban arterials and city expressways, the goal was the same: to prevent crashes and save lives," the department said.

"Please remember to always buckle up, slow down, and stay focused: Obey the speed limit and avoid distractions such as texting, scrolling or gaming while driving," BPD added.

The holiday enforcement campaign was administered by IDOT with federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and is part of Illinois’ “It’s Not a Game” statewide media outreach program.
