Update: Bolingbrook Man Jailed on Murder Charge

A Bolingbrook man was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with murder.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with murder.

Kevin Jerel Bailey, 22, was booked into the Will County jail on charges of murder and second-degree murder. His bond was set at $2 million.

Bailey allegedly gunned down 21-year-old Juantrelle Quarles, who was killed on Feb. 6, said Bolingbrook police Lt. Carter Larry.

When he was killed, Quarles was among a group that had gathered at a residence on Cypress Drive following a funeral in Summit, police said.

Quarles, a Bolingbrook resident, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil’s office.

A second man was wounded in the shooting, police said.

Bailey, who lives less than two miles from the scene of the Quarles killing, is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
