Bolingbrook Man One of Seven Arrested In Glen Ellyn Drug Bust
Authorities acting on information learned during a month-long investigation raided a Glen Ellyn restaurant where suspected drug sales were taking place.
A Bolingbrook man was one of seven area residents arrested Friday as the result of a month-long drug investigation that ultimately yielded more than $100,000 worth of cocaine.
Alfredo Garcia, 35, of the 100 block of Farmgat Lane, a small side road near the intersection of Weber Road and Veterans Parkway, was arrested at a Glen Ellyn restaurant shortly after 9:30 a.m. when members of the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group raided the restaurant.
According to a release, the arrests resulted in the seizure of four kilos of cocaine with a street value of $120,000.

One of the seven arrested, Venustiano Calderon, 45, of Lombard, was the owner of the restaurant— , located at 690 Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn.
Authorities acting on information learned during the investigation raided the restaurant where suspected drug sales were taking place. Police then discovered the drugs upon entering the restaurant.

It’s unclear what Garcia’s role was in the operation.
All seven that were arrested appeared in bond court Friday morning where they were each been charged with one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Both charges are Super X Felonies and are punishable by up to 15 to 60 years in prison.

- Luis Sanchez, 30, of Chicago
- Oscar Colin, 26, of Cicero
- Luz Vidal, 33, of Chicago
- Restaurant owner, Venustiano Calderon, 45, of Lombard
- Salma Sanchez-Hernandez, 22, of Cicero
- Marciano M. Diaz, 41 of Chicago
“Drug dealers do not recognize boundaries and by working together we will continue to disrupt and hopefully dismantle these drug rings,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin.
The DuPage County States Attorney’s Office and Glen Ellyn, Addison and Lombard police departments also assisted in the arrest.
