Bolingbrook Park District Completes Five Years Of Projects From 2018 Referendum

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook Park District has completed its 2019-2023 referendum projects, and is thanking voters for approving the 2018 referendum that allowed funding for improvements, according to the park district newsletter.
In 2018, voters approved the park district's request for $14 million to make improvements, including the replacement of 21 aging playgrounds.
The plan was finished in 2023 by updating Balstrode and Erickson playgrounds, according to the park district.

In addition to playground replacement, the park district also completed bridge and pathway construction connecting trails on Lily Cache Greenway, purchased new pumps, fitness equipment, trucks, roofing and HVAC units, and constructed a new entrance, program rooms, family changing rooms and more at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Center.
The park district said that feedback on the new locker rooms, family changing rooms and multipurpose room has been overwhelmingly positive.

"As responsible stewards of your tax dollars, we developed a schedule and plan for the projects you entrusted us with. All projects were completed," the park district said in its newsletter.
