Bolingbrook Police Issue 22 Seat Belt Citations During July 4th Enforcement
The campaign ran from June 20 to July 7.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Police issued 22 seat belt citations and six speeding citations in its recent Fourth of July traffic enforcement campaign, the department shared in a release.
The campaign ran from June 20 to July 7. Other actions from the campaign included: 2 distracted driving citations, 20 citations for other traffic law violations and one arrest.
BPD joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies conducting the safety effort, which featured high-visibility enforcement to encourage seat belt use, the department said.

The “Click It or Ticket” campaign is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. These efforts are complemented by IDOT’s “It’s Not a Game” media campaign, which emphasizes the serious consequences of impaired driving and other unsafe driving behaviors.
