Bolingbrook Traffic Signal Cabinet Struck By Lightning During Storms

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The traffic light at Weber Road near McDonald's remains offline after it was struck by lightning during Monday night's storms.
The Village of Bolingbrook said Wednesday that work continues on the traffic signal cabinet, and the traffic light is still out.
The Weber Road entrances to each shopping plaza have been closed to allow traffic to move freely. Please enter and exit those respective plazas from Boughton Road.

The traffic signal cabinet was struck by lightning, and the electrical components were shorted out and destroyed, according to the Village.
Crews will be out to further diagnose repairs at noon on Wednesday. The traffic light is expected to remain out of service until work is completed, end of day on Friday.
