Coronavirus Testing Site Open To Symptomatic Adults: Bolingbrook

The Bolingbrook town office announced Wednesday that a coronavirus testing site on Boughton Road was now open to anyone 18+ with symptoms.

This story was updated at 11:14 a.m., April 23, to include a link to the test reservation site and new information from the Village of Bolingbrook.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A coronavirus testing site at the closed Walgreens at 695 W. Boughton Road is now open to anyone over 18 showing symptoms, the Bolingbrook village office announced Wednesday. This announcement came via one of the village's "Brook Alert" emails. The same day, Gov. Pritzker said two new drive-thru testing sites were opening in Illinois; one each in Rockford and Aurora.

"Walgreens located at 695 W. Boughton Road is now allowing Healthcare Professionals, First Responders and anyone 18 and older WITH SYMPTOMS to test at the Bolingbrook site," the Brook Alert said.

Unlike the new sites in Rockford and Aurora, staff with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) said the site on Boughton Road is not state-administered. The Bolingbrook office also said that the village is not involved in running the site, that it was being operated by Walgreen's staff.

"That site is operated by Walgreens, that is no longer a state-operated site," IDPH Public Information Officer Melaney Arnold said.

The Bolingbrook office encouraged residents wishing to get tested to make a reservation via the Walgreen's coronavirus webpage. The page asks applicants to complete a short survey to determine if their symptoms meet CDC standards for testing, as well as for personal contact information.

Bolingbrook Village Trustee Michael Carpanzano also included information regarding the new testing site on his own Facebook page.

Patch reached out to Walgreen's for comment on the testing site, but did not immediately receive a response.
