Donations Still Sought For Survivor Of Fatal March Car Accident
The March car accident which killed a local teenager left a survivor - and her family is still seeking donations for her medical treatment.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A month after local teenager Colin Montrose was killed in a car crash on Boughton Road, a survivor of the same crash is still fighting for her life. Her name is Andreanna Mantegna, and a GoFundMe page has been started to aid her family in paying her ongoing medical expenses. As of April 8, some $7,450 out of a stated goal of $10,000 has already been raised.
According to the GoFundMe page, Mantegna was Montrose's girlfriend. Montrose was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed from the scene of the crash to Amita Bolingbrook Hospital, but Mantegna survived with serious injuries and was put into a medically-induced coma.
"As one can imagine, medical costs will quickly sky-rocket and so we're looking to friends, family, neighbors and the community to to pull together to support the Mantegna family in their time of need," Adrian Gil, the organizer of the GoFundMe page and a family friend of the Mantegnas, wrote on the fundraiser page.

Gil also wrote that due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, some of Mantegna's family were unable to visit her. Now more than ever, he said, the donations and well-wishes of the community would be appreciated.
"If you can’t donate please share and thank you for keeping Andreanna in your prayers," Gil wrote.
