DuPage Township Democrats, Independents Face Off: April 1 Election

On the April 1 ballot, voters will decide on candidates running for Township Supervisor, Clerk, Assessor, Collector and Trustee.

WILL COUNTY, IL — Election Day is almost upon us, and there are several local races on the ballot, including positions in DuPage Township government.

DuPage Township is in Will County; and includes a large majority of Bolingbrook, and partial areas of Romeoville and Naperville, according to the Township website. On the April 1 ballot, voters will decide on candidates running for Township Supervisor, Clerk, Assessor, Collector and Trustee.

Patch also offered a candidate survey to all candidates, and several candidates running for DuPage Township positions filled them out. (Candidate survey links are below):

Candidates are running as two different parties: Democrat and Independent. The Democrats for DuPage slate includes Marschke, Harris, Parker, Bastounes, Braxton, Ransom, Jackson and Parks.

According to the slate, it wants to continue to add and enhance its current services of the food pantry, senior and youth programs; continue to ensure fair property assessments; preserve the integrity of the general assistance and emergency assistance programs; and have an enhanced Summer Bridge program to serve needs.

The Independents for DuPage Township includes Grzenia, Kloepfer, Kelly, Clemens-Guilbo, Cosgrove-Falese, Ellis, Loeza and Brambila.

According to the slate, it wants to improve and modernize the existing food pantry; post bills and invoices online; have an open door policy for all residents; align costs to be within range of townships across the state; and post all FOIA requests online and modernize the process.


Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on April 1. If you are already in line to vote when the polls close, you can still vote — so don't leave!
