BOLINGBROOK, IL — Starting July 9, locals can help clean up Hidden Lakes Trout Farm at Hidden Oaks Preserve in Bolingbrook.

The ongoing event, from July 9 to July 18, asks guests to help pick up litter in the preserve from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m on Saturday and Sunday.

The preserve said fishing line and debris pose a threat to furry and feathered creatures. Animals can get tangled in fishing line or swallow hooks or plastic.

Guests can check in at the concession window for a bucket and grabbers, according to the preserve. Fill the bucket and return it for a treat from The Tackle Box.

The event is free, for all ages and no registration is required.
