Kalnicky will be running for the new 98th district, which covers portions of Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Plainfield and Crest Hill.

Kalnicky has already picked up a number of endorsements, including Romeoville Mayor John Noak, DuPage Township Supervisor Bill Mayer, Wheatland Township Supervisor Todd Morse and several of the Will County board members.

Kalnicky will likely lead a pro-business campaign. He said the key to economic recovery is a pro-growth business environment and that recent actions taken by current lawmakers—specifically a tax increase—has created an environment where businesses are leaving for other states and taking jobs with them.

"Couple that with the individual tax increase imposed last year and it has become more difficult to live in Illinois," he said. "With a deficit approaching $40 billion, the direction in Springfield needs to change.

Kalnicky is also the president of the Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce and the executive director of the Community Service Council of Northern Will County.

According to a Chicago Sun-Times report, Janet Silosky of Plainfield plans to run in the new 98th District.
