Kindergarteners lead way in giving back to community

Woodview Elementary School students' drive garners over 800 items for DuPage Township Food Pantry

Valley View 365U last week marked its 100th day of school.

Students at Woodview Elementary School in Bolingbrook recognized the milestone by giving back to their community.

The school’s kindergarten classes organized and promoted a drive for DuPage Township Food Pantry.

The kindergarteners wanted to collect 100 items per classroom before the 100th day of school. Older students gathered daily totals from each classroom.

The Food Pantry last week collected over 800 items (non-perishables, baby, household, cleaning, and personal care).

DuPage Township and the Food Pantry thank the Woodview community especially teachers Mr. Scott, Mrs. Buresh, Mrs. Hoffman and Mrs. Polich for inspiring great acts from their students.
