Kinetic Dance Company & Bolingbrook to Host Charity Fundraiser

On Saturday January 25th at 7 p.m., the Kinetic Dance Company (KDC) will host the first Dancing with the Stars of Bolingbrook event at the Bolingbrook Community Center in Bolingbrook. Kinetic Dance Company is a not-for-profit organization based out of Dance Dimensions dance studio in Bolingbrook, which has served the community for over 30 years. Proceeds raised from the event will support Kinetic Dance Company as well as other not-for-profit charities and causes. The event promises to be a good time for dance aficionados as well as anyone just looking for a fun night out to support local causes.

This year’s event features seven local “Star” dancers. Each of the dancing “Stars” will be supporting not-for-profit charities of their choice. Participating “Stars” in this year’s event include (with supported charities):

· Bobby Armstrong – Fountaindale Library Board Member (Friends of Fountaindale Library)

· Barbara Parker – DuPage Township Clerk (Relay for Life of Bolingbrook and DuPage Township Food Pantry)

· Mike Selep – Bolingbrook Park District Executive Director (Foundation for Bolingbrook Parks)

· Melissa Boltz – President & CEO, Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC Scholarship Fund)

· Dorothy Andrews – Bolingbrook Park District Commissioner (Citizens Against Domestic Abuse)

· Michael Lawler – Bolingbrook Village Trustee (Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation)

• Teresa Polson – Valley View School District 365U Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services (Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation)

Doors will open at 6:20 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres and bottled water will be available prior to the event beginning at 6:30 p.m., and a cash bar will be provided at the event by Tailgaters Bar and Grill. The Bolingbrook Community Center is located at 201 Canterbury Lane in Bolingbrook. General admission tickets are available for $55 apiece. Tables for 10 and other ticket options are also available. Kinetic Dance Company, under the supervision of Artistic Director Kim Marie Peterson, has served the Bolingbrook community for over 30 years. Among the local events in which the Company regularly participates are the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the Pathways Parade, and the Festival of Lights, as well as providing entertainment at local senior living facilities throughout the year. Kinetic Dance Company also proudly represents the Bolingbrook area at a variety of regional and national dance events, competitions, and conventions held throughout the greater Chicagoland area as well as nationwide. The Company has also recently performed at the Disneyworld and Dollywood resorts.
