Library Set to Host Art Walk, Unveil Final Art Piece

Final art piece to tell the story of Bolingbrook's history and be unveiled at the library's Art Walk Oct. 27.

officials, closing in on the completion of the new library, will unveil the final art piece to adorn the new library's walls tonight at 6 p.m., the library announced this week.

The seven-panel work of art created by artist Markian Olynyk will be on display between the second and third floors of the library.

Olynyk and nine of the other artists to have their work displayed in the library will be on hand to greet residents and answer any questions patrons have about the pieces, a library release said.

The unveiling will be followed by a self-guided Art Walk, where library goers can view the other original art pieces the library already has.

Many of the art on display speaks to the organic feel of the library's theme— Library in the Park. Others pieces, particularly those in metal, are designed to balance the organic feel.

Olynyk's piece is expected to cater to the history of Bolingbrook.

The piece, which will be done on glass, is to hang beside the windows between the second and third floors of the new library. 

The Art Walk will be available Oct. 27 through Oct. 28.
