Local businesses are the heart of our communities. Patch had a chance to talk with Lori Marschke, DuPage Township Supervisor Candidate, of Dems for DuPage Township.

Patch: Tell us a bit about your business or organization:
Lori Marschke: DuPage Township is the home of 88,000 people and is the northernmost of 24 townships in Will County, covering most of Bolingbrook, and parts of Naperville, Romeoville, and Plainfield.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Lori Marschke: DuPage Township was established in 1849 and performs three functions defined by statute: property assessment, general and emergency assistance, and township road maintenance.

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Lori Marschke: Public service has been the work of my family for most of our adult lives. Beginning as young political volunteers, later working in state government, and in recent years in township government.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Lori Marschke: Do what your abilities and resources allow to support and provide assistance to everyone, especially those who are easily forgotten.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Lori Marschke: Seeing actions that provide service to residents work successfully and equitably.

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Lori Marschke: "Caring" is the key word. The current elected officials of DuPage Township care deeply about the community and want to continue providing their award-winning service to all township residents.
