Massengale, Tuck Get the Job Done for Team USA

Former Lady Raider Ariel Massengale and current Lady Raider Morgan Tuck helped the U19 U.S. National Team defeat Japan Thursday.

Both Ariel Massengale and Morgan Tuck—staples of the Bolingbrook High School girls basketball team over the years—logged significant minutes and helped the U.S. U19 National Team to a 85-63 win against Japan in the 2011 FIBA preliminary round.

Massengale, who will in this fall, played 24 minutes, dishing a game-high five assists and snatching a steal.

Tuck, meanwhile, who will return to BHS this season before next season, played 22 minutes while scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds.

Both Massengale and Tuck, who helped the Lady Raiders win a  in March, were named to the team in June.

"It’s a great opportunity," Massengale said of the opportunity to represent her county again. "It’s an honor and I’m thankful to be here. This has always been a dream of mine. To come around, especially at such a young age, I feel like is a blessing. I know a lot of girls would like to be in this position. I just thank God that I made it."

The U.S. team will play again today against Russia.
