Mother, Son Arrested in Attempted Copper Heist
The 51-year-old mother from Lyons was allegedly waiting in the get-away car when her son, 30, was caught by police trying to steal copper from a local business.

A 51-year-old mother and her 30-year-old son were arrested by Bolingbrook police Oct. 2 after police alleged they were trying to rob a village business.
According to police, Elizabeth Marquez drover her son, Christopher Marquez, to Kohler Rental and waited in the car while he was to steal copper. But the son set off an alarm and was seen by an off-site security guard in the yard area.
Police responded to the business, found Christopher Marquez inside the secured fenced lot and subsequently arrested both of them.

According to police, several pieces of equipment was damaged by having the copper removed from them.
Christopher Marquez, of the 4000 block of Maple Avenue in Brookfield, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass to property, theft and resisting a peace officer.

Elizabeth Marquez, of the 81000 block of White Avenue in Lyons, was charged with resisting a peace officer.
