Plainfield Coronavirus Update: 49 Cases Confirmed; No Deaths

There are two new reported cases in the village this morning, but still no confirmed deaths.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police announced via Twitter this morning that there were 49 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the village as of April 8. This is a smaller increase than the previous day's, which saw a jump of 12 cases. There are still no confirmed coronavirus deaths in Plainfield, though Kendall County reported another death on Thursday evening. At least one Plainfield resident has been confirmed to have recovered from the virus.

The police receive the information they need to make their daily updates from the Will and Kendall County Health Departments. As of the morning of April 10, there have been 1,010 confirmed cases in Will County and 88 in Kendall. These are part of the 16,424 cases so far confirmed in Illinois and 466,396 confirmed in the U.S.

As Easter weekend approaches, Plainfield residents are urged to stay home whenever possible, and to avoid social gatherings of any kind. Unfortunately, this includes meeting with friends and family who live outside your immediate household. Regularly washing hands and sanitizing high-use surfaces are also effective ways of protecting one's self.
