Monday, July 18

Thieves rip off vending machine

Police were called to the Food 4 Less at 271 S. Bolingbrook Dr. for the report of a theft. A witness told police they saw two unknown subjects attempting to remove metal bars off the front of a vending machine and took several cans of soda at 1:39 a.m.

Laptops stolen from business

Two laptops valued at $1,500 were stolen from a business on the 500 block of West Boughton Road, police said. A rear window was smashed to gain entry sometime between July 17 and July 18.

Sunday, July 17

Car owner chases burglars

Police were called to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive for the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Police said the owner discovered several unknown subjects rummaging through an unlocked car. The subjects ran off after the owner chased them at 1:27 a.m.

Resisting a peace officer

John Gooden, 18, of the 100 block of Somerset Lane, was charged with resisting a peace officer in the Lot J of Beaconridge Drive at 2 a.m., police said.

Home window broken

A rear window to a home on the 100 block of Bedford Drive between 1 p.m. and 12:15 a.m., police said.

Purse snatched from car

A purse was taken from a car parked on the 200 block of South Joliet Road sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., police said.

Subwoofers stolen

Subwoofers and an amplifier were taken from an unlocked car parked on the 200 block of Navajo Drive, police said. Loss valued at $400.

Victim threatened in Beaconridge

Police were called to the 200 block of Beaconridge Drive for the report of a threat. Sydnei Matthews, 18, of the 100 block of Somerset Drive, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 8:07 p.m., police said.
