Police Blotter: Home Burglar Poses as ComEd Worker

Wednesday, Oct. 12

1. Retail theft

Valencia Cooper, 36, of the 100 block of Robinhood Way, was charged with an in-state warrant and retail theft at Food 4 Less, 271 S. Bolingbrook Dr., at 5:09 p.m.

2. Residential burglary

Police responded to the 700 block of North Pinecrest Road for the report of a residential burglary. A homeowner told police that at 2:45 p.m., a subject knocked on the door posing as a ComEd eomployee and needed to enter the home to check the outlets. The homeowner later discovered several pieces of jewelry taken.

3. Warrant

Justin Fortin, 24, of the 700 block of South Zachary Drive in Romeoville, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance, no valid driver’s license and an in-state warrant following a traffic stop on the 200 block of South Bolingbrook drive at 12:09 a.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 11

4. Warrant

A 17-year-old was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop on Lot D of Fernwood Drive at 1:21 a.m.

5. Warrant

Nathan Medina, of the 100 block of South Canyon Drive, was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop on the 1400 block of Raven Lane at 11:09 p.m.
