Burglars hit Bas Pro Shops

Police were called to the Bass Pro Shops for the report of a burglary to a car. Several boats had the covers cut and stereos were removed, police said.

Basement window broken

A basement window to a home on the 100 block of Lancaster Drive was broken with a large rock, police said.

Purse snatched from car

A purse was taken from a car parked in the driveway on the 300 block of Magnolia Court, police said.

Verbal argument turns into fight

Jesse Ramos, 18, of the 400 block of Tallman Avenue in Romeoville, was charged with disorderly conduct following a verbal argument that turned into aphysical fight, police said.

Fireworks set off at Clow

Police say fireworks were set off on the runway of Clow International Airport without authorization, police said.

DUI

Wendy Umana, 21, of the 100 block of Gladstone Drive in Glendale Heights, was charged wth DUI and following too closely, police said.

Friday, July 8

Three arrested for armed robbery

Douglas White, 19, of the 400 block of Assembly Drive, Andrew Knox, 19, of the 500 block of Chicago Street in Joliet, and Dwayne White, 18, of the 1000 block of Woodruff Road in Joliet, were all charged with armed robbery, unlawful use ofa  weapon, mob action and no FOID card after police were called to the 600 block of Preston Drive for the report of an armed robbery. Victims told police that they were unloading groceries when they were grabbed by the offender and forced back inside the building at gunpoint. The offenders then took the victim’s money, cell phone and gold chain before running off.

In a separate incident the three men were charged with the same offenses for displaying a handgun and taking money, phone and a pack of cigarettes before leaving the scene, police said.
