Police Blotter: Teen Busted With Drug Equipment

Sunday, Oct. 23
1. Criminal trespass to property
Deshun Echols, 20, of the 7400 block of Stewart Drive in Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to property on New Castle Lane at 4:22 p.m.

2. Residential burglary
Police were called to the 400 block of Sullivan Circle for the repot of a residential burglary. A homeowner told police they returned to the residence at 1:20 p.m. and discovered a laptop, PS3, Xbox game system, miscellaneous pieces of jewelry, a lock box, TV, stereo, Xbox 360 and a watch were taken between 10:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. Loss valued at $6,600.

Saturday, Oct. 22
3. Catalytic converters yanked
Police responded to a business on the 400 block of Crossroads Parkway for the report of a theft. Eight catalytic converters were sawed off cars in the parking lot between Oct. 22 and Oct. 23.
4. Stolen car
A 1998 black Altima was taken from a business parking lot on the 200 block of Old Chicago Drive between Oct. 20 and Oct. 22.
5. DUI
Anthony Carrera, 34, of the 100 block of Lexington Avenue in South Elgin, was charged with speeding and DUI following a traffic stop on Route 53 and 2:05 a.m.
6. Possession of drug equipment
A 17-year-old was charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and possession of drug equipment after call to the 300 block of New Castle Court for the report of a suspicious person looking into cars at 7:48 p.m.
