Despite residents' persistent efforts to halt construction, Will County Department of Highways will begin construction on the Kings Road extension next year.

Bolingbrook residents looking for another quick route to Naperville won’t have to wait too much longer.
The oft-controversial three-mile extension of Kings Road that will ultimately link Bolingbrook to Naperville via 95th Street is set, despite some residents' best efforts to halt construction.
The $25 million project would cost Bolingbrook residents $6.25 million—Naperville would also pay $6.25 million while Will County would pay the rest, Drey said.

Some for the lack of stop signs and traffic lights, which could pose danger to pedestrians. Others have pointed to the increased speed limit of 40 mph to 45 mph.
Still others worry about property values and a few residents will lose parts of their property when the noise wall will be built a few feet within their homes’ boundaries.
