Ex-Bolingbrook Man Who Attempted To Kill Girlfriend Sentenced
The man, 26, was convicted in October 2023 of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm, among other charges.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A former Bolingbrook man was given a prison sentence in March for an attempted first-degree murder conviction, the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office announced this week.
Quinton J. McKee, 26, was found guilty by a Kendall County jury on Oct. 20, 2023, of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and aggravated unlawful use of weapons.
The charges and sentence stem from an incident on May 31, 2022, when McKee threatened to kill his estranged 19-year-old girlfriend.

He was sentenced to 30 years for attempted first-degree murder, 10 years for aggravated discharge of a firearm, eight years for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and five years for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, officials said. He is required to serve 85 percent of his 30-year sentence for the most serious charge.
Following his release from prison, McKee will be required to serve three years of mandatory supervised release, officials said.

During the incident about two years ago, officers from the Montgomery Police Department were called to investigate a shooting involving two different cars. Officials said McKee had discharged a firearm at his girlfriend's car after threatening to kill her and turn her car into "Swiss cheese." He then fired three times at the car driven by the woman's father, who, in fear of his daughter's safety, was following his daughter after McKee shot at her, according to a news release.
"Without the commitment of the several law enforcement agencies involved in this investigation, the victims of this crime would not have seen justice," Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis said in a statement. "The Court in sentencing McKee to 30 years in prison sends a message that this type of conduct will not be tolerated in Kendall County."
