Teachers' Strike Would Halt Student Attendance, Affect School Calendar: Valley View School District
The union has said that the earliest strike date would be Sept. 15.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Contract negotiations remain at a standstill between Valley View Council and Valley View School District 365U. The District said in a statement on Friday that it has reached out to the union to request that the two parties "return to the table as soon as possible."
An impasse in the negotiations was declared by the union in July. Valley View Council has since held a vote to authorize a strike, which was approved with 95.97 percent of more than 91 percent of members voting "yes" to authorize the strike. The union also filed notice of their intent to strike with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board.

The District said Friday that no actual strike date has been provided.
"We anticipate that if the Union does strike, we will likely not be able to have student attendance due to lack of sufficient personnel," the District said. "Additionally, if the District makes up the missed
days, this will result in changes to the school calendar later in the year."
