Valley View School District Proposes 2024-25 School Year Calendar

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Valley View School District administration has presented a proposal for the 2024-25 school year calendar to the Board of Education.

The calendar was presented to the board at the Nov. 13 meeting, and the Board is expected to take action on the calendar at its Dec. 13 meeting, according to the District.

Here are some dates to know on the proposed 2024-25 school year calendar:

• Aug. 15, first day of school for grades K-12
• Aug. 19, first day of school for early childhood
• Sept. 2, Labor Day, no school
• Sept. 11, early release
• Sept. 25, early release
• Oct. 9, early release
• Oct. 14, Indigenous Peoples Day, no school
• Oct. 23, early release
• Oct. 24-25, parent teacher conferences, no school
• Nov. 5, Election Day, no school
• Nov. 6, early release
• Nov. 20, early release
• Nov. 27-29, Thanksgiving break, no school
• Dec. 11, early release
• Dec. 20, early release
• Dec. 23, winter break begins, no school
• Jan. 6, 2025, teacher work day, no school
• Jan. 7, 2025, schools reopen
