Volunteers Needed For Bolingbrook Snow Angels

The resident-led effort focuses on helping neighbors shovel and salt their property after snow events.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — With the possibility of a snowstorm next week in the Chicago area, Bolingbrook's Snow Angels program is in need of volunteers.

The resident-led effort focuses on helping neighbors shovel and salt their property after snow events, according to the group's website.

Trustee Michael Carpanzano, who helps organize the program, said the Snow Angels have been around for the last two snow seasons.

"Since inception, over 100 residents of Bolingbrook have requested the help of a snow hero," Carpanzano said.

With the possibility of a snowstorm next week, the demand for volunteers is outpacing the supply of volunteers, Carpanzano said.

You can sign up online to become a volunteer, or request help if you need a Snow Angel.

Volunteers will be contacted via email, and are asked to help their assigned neighbor within 24 hours of the end of a snow event. Neighbors who need help include older adults or people with disabilities, according to the group's website.
