Wilmington Teen Jailed in Connection with Twin's Dirt Bike Death

A Wilmington teen hospitalized since Friday night for injuries allegedly suffered in a fatal dirt bike wreck with his twin brother was jailed Monday morning.

Casey Grskovic, 19, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, failing to reduce speed, the careless operation of an all-terrain vehicle and driving without headlights.

Grskovic was riding a dirt bike east on Widows Road and was following behind a dirt bike ridden by his twin brother, Ross Grskovich, police said. Neither dirt bike was street legal, according to police, but both brothers were riding on the roadway.

Another man was following the twins on a Harley Davidson, police said. This man, a 20-year-old, reportedly told county deputies he saw Casey Grskovic’s dirt bike clip the back of his brother’s dirt bike.

The 20-year-old reportedly performed CPR on Ross Grskovic until paramedics arrived. A man who had been riding on the back of the Harley was too distraught to speak with deputies, police said.

While Casey Grskovic was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the accident, his brother may have been drunk as well. A post to Ross Grskovic’s Twitter account from shortly before the crash said, “Not sober.”

The results of toxicological testing will not be returned for three or four weeks, according to Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil’s office.

An autopsy conducted Saturday on Ross Grskovic showed he suffered cranial cerebral injuries.

In 1998, the twins shared the role of “Baby Tristan” in the David Schwimmer-directed romantic comedy Since You’ve Been Gone.
