“Carry On!” with Cindy Firing and Josephine Sanges
At Davenport's Cabaret, June 2 and 3 at 8 p.m.

Davenport’s Piano Bar & Cabaret, Chicago’s premier location for enjoying music in an intimate setting, hosts Cindy Firing and Josephine Sanges for “Carry On!” in its Cabaret on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 at 8 p.m.
Two singers from different cities hatch a cross-promotion plan and end up becoming friends while navigating distance, disease and duets. Together they explore the myriad ways one carries on – whether traveling light, feeling wary, or making merry.
Bart Greenberg of Cabaret Scenes says of Cindy Firing’s performance abilities, “the audience could relax and know they were in the presence of a talent who knows what she is doing.” Carla Gordon of Cabaret Scenes notes Cindy Firing’s, “impressive vocals, megawatt energy, and heart” and “flexed hilarious comedy chops,” calling her “a promising cabaret artist.”

In the Broadway World review of the album “Finding Beauty,” Stephen Mosher, comments on Sanges’ ability, “Once in a while comes a moment so special that you know you will remember it, every detail of it, forever. It is when you hear a singer for the first time, and it doesn’t happen every day.”
Bart Greenberg of Cabaret Scenes also notes “Sanges has an incredibly flexible instrument, capable of caressing the sensuous melody and lyrics of “Come Rain or Come Shine,” scatting her way through “Ding, Dong! The Witch Is Dead” in a way that evokes Ella Fitzgerald, and goes very simple and direct in “Over the Rainbow.” Sanges is a jazz singer with a rare instinct for interpreting lyrics at the same time.”
