1K Still Without Power Following High Winds In Buffalo Grove

ComEd has reported three outage areas in Buffalo Grove following the damaging winds overnight.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Nearly 1,000 ComEd customers in Buffalo Grove are without power Thursday morning due to non-storm high winds that reached 74 mph near the lake in Chicagoland.

ComEd has reported three outage areas in Buffalo Grove following the damaging winds overnight and is aware of 989 customers without power as of 8 a.m., according to Village of Buffalo Grove officials.

At 8:30 a.m., 543 customers are without power near St. Mary's Parkway; 319 customers near Cherrywood Road are without power; and 128 customers near Hawthorne Road are powerless, according to a ComEd power outage map.

Traffic signals at the intersection of Raupp Boulevard and Lake Cook Road are currently without power and stop signs have been placed at the intersection, according to the Village. Motorists are reminded to be cautious when approaching any intersection that has non-functioning traffic signals.

Public Works is canvasing around town for tree damage. No major issues were encountered overnight. If residents spot a downed branch or hanging limbs in a parkway tree, call Public Works at 847-459-2545.
