71-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Car: Wheeling PD

WHEELING, IL — A 71-year-old pedestrian has died following a Monday night traffic accident in which he was struck by a car. According to the Wheeling Police Department, the man was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital following the incident with critical injuries, which he succumbed to early Tuesday despite life-saving efforts.

Police responded to the 1000 block of Valley Stream Drive at around 6:25 p.m. Monday, for a report of a traffic accident involving a 2018 Ford Explorer and a pedestrian. The crash remains under investigation by the Wheeling Police Department Traffic Unit. No further details are being released currently.
