Man Fatally Stabbed Former Girlfriend In Shopping Center Parking Lot: Schaumburg PD

The 37-year-old Des Plaines woman had recently broken up with the accused, who police found standing over the bleeding victim.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — An arrest has been made after a woman was found stabbed to death near a shopping center earlier this week. Alfredo Bri Briseno, 49, of Niles, has been charged with first-degree murder, a felony, as approved by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. He is due in court Thursday.

Jenny Rodriguez, 37, of Des Plaines, sustained multiple stab wounds in a Tuesday morning domestic disturbance in a parking lot in the 100 block of S. Roselle Road. Police responded to the location at around 5:30 a.m. and found Briseno standing over a bleeding Rodriguez.

The Schaumburg Fire Department rendered medical aid, but Rodriguez succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Briseno was "quickly" taken into custody, according to police. A knife was recovered at the scene.

During the subsequent investigation, Schaumburg detectives said they discovered Rodriguez and Briseno had a previous dating relationship, and had recently broken up.
