BUFFALO GROVE, IL – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Buffalo Grove so you can start planning now.

Here's what's in store during the week of July 4th in Buffalo Grove and Cook County:

Buffalo Grove Independence Day Fireworks

• Where: Village Hall Campus, 50 Raupp Drive
• When: Fireworks (free) are at dusk on Thursday, July 4.
• Event details: Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band concert at 7 p.m. Viewing spots include Rotary Village Green, the Buffalo Grove Golf Course and Willow Stream Park.

Village of Lincolnshire Red, White & Boom! 4th of July Celebration

• Where: Spring Lake Park, 49 Oxford Drive
• When: Wednesday and Thursday, July 3 and 4; 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m., parade at 11 a.m., and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. on July 4
• Event details: Ticket booth opens at 4 p.m., July 3, and noon, July 4. View July 3 and 4 event schedule.

Park Ridge 3rd of July Fireworks Celebration

• Where: Maine East High School, 2601 West Dempster Street
• When: 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3; fireworks at dusk
• Event details: Free; live music during a special program on the high school's athletic field, then fireworks. The annual Kiddies Parade is Thursday, July 4.
