Original story 8:45 p.m.:

Buffalo Grove Days shut down — hopefully temporarily — at 8 p.m. Sept. 1 as a thunderstorm rolled in.

Fest-goers were evacuated to Village Hall and the Public Works building, where they will remain until the storm passes.

The storm began about half an hour after American English began its performance to a full crowd.

Buffalo Grove Days committee member Alan Danenberg said organizers hope the storm will pass and the event will reopen tonight. Updates are being posted on the Buffalo Grove Days Facebook page.

Tonight's festivities are scheduled to end at midnight.
