Buffalo Grove Man Faces Drug Charges After Home Searched

Buffalo Grove police began their investigation into 18-year-old Henry Hashemi's home in the 1500 block of Anderson Lane Thursday, Feb. 13.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A young man from Buffalo Grove is facing felony drug-related charges stemming from an investigation into his Anderson Lane home. According to a news release from the Buffalo Grove Police Department, 18-year-old Henry Hashemi is accused of manufacturing and delivering cannabis, having a fake Illinois driver's license, and having instruments and materials used in the production of cannabis products.

Buffalo Grove police began their investigation into Hashemi’s home in the 1500 block of Anderson Lane Thursday after receiving several calls, anonymous complaints, and performing surveillance, according to the news release. Police got a search warrant for the home after evidence was presented to a Lake County judge, the department added.

“Without the eyes and ears of our residents we would otherwise be unable to conduct these types of investigations,” Chief Steven Casstevens said, in the release. “Once armed with information, our officers conducted a thorough investigation which ultimately results in a safer neighborhood for our community.”

Buffalo Grove police recovered small amounts of illegal narcotics and a large sum of money as a result of the search warrant, during which Hashemi was inside the home, according to the news release. He was then arrested, and the Lake County State's Attorney's office approved two felony charges for manufacturing and delivering of cannabis, and the fake driver's license, according to the news release. Hashemi also faces a felony charge for the accusations of having instruments and materials.

Hashemi was taken to bond court in Lake County where his bond was set at $20,000, and he must pay 10 percent of that amount in order to be released, police said.
