The holiday is held on Oct. 23 and is aimed at recognizing individuals who help save animals' lives, officials said on the event's website.
"It takes a special person to be a Veterinary nurse, and being an Emergency Veterinary Nurse is even more rare," the website reads. "Veterinary Nurses are one of the often overlooked positions in most emergency hospitals, and they deserve a day to stand out and be celebrated for all that they do."
