Catalytic Converters Stolen On Multiple Box Trucks: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

A number of driving under the influence arrests were also made recently, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE

  • Christian Martinez, 26, of the 1200 block of W. Northeast Shore Drive, McHenry, is accused of driving on a suspended license, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and was arrested at 6:38 a.m. Oct. 22, at Whitehall Drive and Arlington Heights Road. A court date of Dec. 11 was assigned.
  • Luis A. Ramirez Romero, 25, of the 10 block of Oak Creek Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration, and was arrested at 8:31 p.m. Oct. 25, at Buffalo Grove and Lake Cook roads. A court date of Nov. 14 was assigned.

DRIVER NEVER ISSUED A LICENSE

Jorge L. Salas Velazquez, 33, of the 600 block of Sandra Lane, Wheeling, is accused of never being issued a license, operating a vehicle when registration is suspended, and was arrested at 8:17 p.m. Oct. 22, at Saxon Place and Dundee Road. A court date of Nov. 21 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

  • Mario Martinez Velasquez, 33, of the 3300 block of N. Betty Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence, suspended registration, and was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 23, at London Court and Brandywyn Lane. A court date of Nov. 12 was assigned.
  • Randi Kaden, 62, of the 1600 block of W. Pheasant Trail Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of DUI, transportation of an open container by driver, improper lane usage, speeding, and was arrested at 1:26 p.m. Oct. 24, at Buffalo Grove Road and Old Checker Drive. A court date of Nov. 19 was assigned.
  • Ulises Mejia Argueta, 21, of the 200 block of George Road, Wheeling, is accused of DUI, driver never issued a license, speeding, driving with expired plates, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 8:51 a.m. Oct. 26, in the 900 block of W. Dundee Road. A court date of Nov. 19 was assigned.
  • Mykola Baziuk, 40, of the 1100 block of S. Forums Court, Wheeling, is accused of DUI, transportation of an open alcohol container by driver, operating a motor vehicle when registration suspended, and was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Oct. 26, in the 0-10 block of Birch Trail. A court date of Nov. 19 was assigned.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

  • A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a 2014 Ford box truck at 1:26 p.m. Oct. 22, in the 1100 block of N. Arlington Heights Road.
  • A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a 2005 GMC box truck at 6 a.m. Oct. 24, in the 1100 block of McHenry Road.

THEFT

Two people were seen on camera stealing a package delivered from Amazon at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 23, in the 0-10 block of Oak Creek Drive.
