Chicago Dog Deep Dish Pizza Launches In Iconic Collab

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Just in time for National Hot Dog Day, the Chicago Dog Deep Dish Pizza launches Wednesday, courtesy of a collaboration between iconic brands Lou Malnati's and Portillo's.

According to Lou Malnati's, based in Buffalo Grove, the pizza is available exclusively at the chain's full-service restaurants for a limited time. The company says the "one-of-a-kind pizza brings together everything Chicagoans love about their city's signature foods."

Built on Lou Malnati's "legendary" buttery crust brushed with poppy seeds, the Chicago Dog Deep Dish features Portillo's Vienna Beef hot dog, mozzarella cheese, Lou's signature tomatoes, chopped white onions, diced tomatoes, chopped pickles, sport peppers, and celery salt.

After baking, the pizza is topped with bright green relish and a drizzle of yellow mustard, staying true to the authentic Chicago dog experience that Portillo's is known for.

Lou Malnati's is introducing the specialty pizza exclusively at their full-service restaurants in the Chicagoland area, Milwaukee, and Arizona. Available only in the small deep-dish size, it can be ordered for dine-in, carryout, or delivery. The item is not offered at their carryout-only locations.
