Funeral Plans Announced For 3 Buffalo Grove Students Killed In Crash

No plans for a fourth victim of last week's tragic car crash in Wheeling have been announced.

WHEELING, IL — The funeral plans for three of the four victims from a fatal car crash last week in Wheeling have been announced. Four Buffalo Grove High School students were killed in a multi-car crash May 16. Richard De Ita, 18, of Wheeling, Kevin R. Hernandez-Teran, 17, of Wheeling, Ricky Barcenas, 17, of Arlington Heights, and Jesus Rodriguez, 16, of Wheeling, all succumbed to their injuries from the crash.

Visitation was held for Barcenas on Saturday at Matz Funeral Chapel in Mount Prospect. A funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at Shrine of Our Lady Guadalupe at 1170 N River Road, Des Plaines. Burial will take place immediately after at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N River Road, Des Plaines, according to his obituary.

A GoFundMe campaign was set up by the family of Barcenas to cover funeral expenses. As of Monday morning, it has raised more than $38,000 of a $20,000 goal.

Barcenas was a junior at BGHS with a 3.8 GPA. He was going to "pursue his dreams in architectural engineering," according to his obituary. (GoFundMe)

Visitation for Hernandez-Teran is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 181 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the same location, according to his obituary. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1170 N. River Road, Des Plaines. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines., according to his obituary.
