Graffiti 'Glorifying' HP Shooter Found: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

Police discovered a message supporting the Highland Park 4th of July mass shooting suspect written on abandoned furniture near a business.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

Jason Whitten, 39, of the 1700 block of W. Juneway Terrace, Chicago, is accused of driving on a suspended license, speeding 35+mph over the speed limit (95 mph in a 45 mph zone), operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 11:23 p.m. July 14, at Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue. Police said prior to the arrest, Whitten accelerated the car's speed to 105 mph. He was released after posting $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of July 29.

  • Evan J. Fair, 55, of the 0-10 block of Oak Creek Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 1:40 a.m. July 15, in the 600 block of W. Lake Cook Road. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 19.
  • Temuge Urtnasan, 20, of the 9oo block of Linda Lane, Des Plaines, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, failure to reduce speed, driving without a valid license, damage to Village property, and was arrested at 11:54 p.m. July 15, at Chevy Chase Clubhouse, 1700 block of Johnson Drive. Police responded to the area for a report of a vehicle crashed into a tree. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 1.
  • Brian T. Barrett, 45, of the 1100 block of N. Highland Avenue, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, violating a traffic control signal, and was arrested at 11:20 p.m. July 16, at N. Arlington Heights and W. Dundee roads. Police found Barrett, who appeared to be sleeping, remaining at a green light through the entire green light cycle. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 3.
  • Nicole Gabrielle Voskoboynik, 22, of the 500 block of Cherbourg Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 3:59 p.m. July 18, in the 300 block of Thompson Boulevard. Police responded to the area for a report of a car on fire and missing two tires. The fire department put out the fire. Voskoboynik was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 10.

INCIDENTS

VANDALISM

Police were dispatched at 10:20 a.m. July 14, to a business in the 0-20 block of Dundee Road for a report of vandalism. Police found various graffiti on the building behind the business, most of which appeared old, according to police. Written in black marker on two pieces of abandoned furniture was "Down with the north shore, heil Rob Crimo," a reference to the suspect in the Highland Park 4th of July parade mass shooting. Police contacted the keyholder, who said they would take a look at the graffiti and try to remove the items. Police, who called the incident an attempt to "glorify the Highland Park attacker," said it appears to be isolated with "no further reports of this nature." Currently, there are no suspects.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A person reported at 8:45 a.m. July 15, their car was burglarized while parked in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Barclay Boulevard. Personal items were taken from the vehicle.
  • A Lamont Terrace resident called police at 12:32 p.m. July 15, to report four people were checking the doors on his vehicle, while it was parked in the driveway. One person entered the car and stole a key, valued at $250.
  • A resident in the 400 block of Cedar Street reported their car was burglarized during the overnight hours of July 15 while it was parked in the driveway. A small amount of money was taken.
  • A resident of the 1400 block of Margate Drive called police at 6:36 p.m. July 15, to report their vehicle had been burglarized overnight. Personal items were taken.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE

  • A person in the 400 block of Cedar Court called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 15, someone had entered their vehicle and tossed items around. Nothing was reported missing or broken.
  • A Lamont Terrace resident reported at 12:44 p.m. July 15, someone had entered their unlocked vehicle overnight. The resident noticed several items on the seat of the vehicle, but did not see anything missing, though there were several scratches on the driver-side door.
  • A Satinwood Terrace resident called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 15, someone entered their two vehicles, with the door of one slightly ajar. The contents of the glove box and center console were spilled onto the seats, but nothing was missing. The car wouldn't start. THEFT

A resident of the 1300 block of Rose Boulevard reported at 5:26 p.m. July 16, two people took several packages from their doorway.
